Midlands Contracting Limited

Transport/Agricultural Contracting Operator 

Midlands Contracting Ltd is an Ashburton based company who provide specialist contract services to Midlands Seed and other seed companies throughout Mid Canterbury.

This position will include the following duties:

- Loading and transporting of export shipping containers from our supply stores to port and includes daily documentation requirements.
- Agricultural contracting specialising in planting and spraying of crops.
-  Maintenance and servicing of contracting machinery.

The ideal candidate will have previous truck driving and loading experience and have a basic understanding of arable crop production and machinery.  You must also hold a current Class 5 licence, be physically fit, able to multi task and enjoy being part of a team.

This is a permanent full time position with extended work hours during seasonal peak times.  We offer a competitive remuneration package and a company vehicle.

Midlands Seed Limited

QA & Compliance Manager

Midlands Seed Limited was established in 1990, to support and encourage the production and export of arable crops from New Zealand. Since then, the company has grown rapidly to become one of New Zealand’s top producers and marketers of vegetable and herbage seeds, dried peas and oilseeds, cereal grains and finished food products.

The essence of the QA & Compliance Manager role is to manage all aspects of Midlands Group Quality Assurance and Compliance requirements across all areas of the business.  The key focus of this role is to ensure maximum efficiencies and therefore, enhanced profitability for the company. The QA & Compliance Manager will ensure that internal and external standards and compliance documents meet both customer and regulatory requirements. Providing support to the Logistic Department for domestic and international stock movements  is also a requirement from time to time.

Applicants should have management experience in HACCP or similar Food Safety based Compliance Programmes. Previous experience with internal and external audit preparation and relationships with audit service providers in addition to knowledge of import/export regulation requirements in the seed and oil industry would be an advantage. Previous Health & Safety experience is also preferred.

Apprentice Beekeeper

We operate a large number of Beehives in Mid Canterbury for honey production and seed crop pollination. Due to our planned expansion we have a vacancy available at either our Staveley or Ashburton bases. You will be working in a small team and over time be trained in the skill of beekeeping.
