Crop Administration and Logistics MSL

Midlands Seed Limited (MSL) was established in 1990, to support and encourage the production and export of arable crops to Europe and South East Asia.  Since then, the company has grown rapidly to become one of New Zealand’s major producers and marketers of vegetable and herbage seeds, pulses, oilseeds, cereal grains and related value added food products.  Midlands takes great pride in providing quality products and services derived from the arable industry. 

 

In order to support recent growth, the company now requires this new Crop Administration and Logistics position which will be based in Ashburton.  The role is focused on our Oilseeds and Arable Foods divisions.  If you also take pride in providing quality products and service, this is an exciting opportunity for career development and personal growth, plus the chance to work with a dynamic team of passionate agricultural specialists.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

Co-ordinate and manage the Crop administration of the relevant divisions of the business, including inventory management, and communication with grower suppliers, third party service providers and customers
  • Manage and oversee domestic logistics of the relevant divisions, as well as liaising with our Logistics Manager for the completion of international logistics
  • Maintain customer relationships using efficient traceability, compliance, logistics and inventory control systems, and provide sales support

We require someone who:

  • Has previous experience in the Arable sector, ideally in logistics and customer relationship management
  • Has initiative and is capable of working unsupervised.
  • Has very strong attention to detail.
  • Has excellent communication, reporting and computing skills.
  • Has a genuine interest in the New Zealand Arable sector.

Intermediate/Senior Bee Keeper

Midlands Apiaries Limited, is one of the largest South Island beekeeping businesses operating hives for honey production and seed crop pollination predominantly in the Mid Canterbury region.

Our soon to be built state of the art honey shed, along with our all new fleet of trucks and equipment, provides our business with the most up to date technology.

Based in Ashburton we are looking for an intermediate to senior beekeeper with at least 5 years experience working with bees.

The successful applicant would be a person that:

  • Has a minimum of 5 years experience working with bees.
  • Has a high work ethic.
  • Enjoys working outdoors.
  • Isn't scared of a bit of old fashion hard work.
  • Is practical.
  • Is prepared to listen and learn.
  • Has the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Enjoys being part of an efficient team.

As well as the above it would be an advantage if you:

  • Have carpentry skills for building and repairing hive boxes.
  • Have a Class 2 license.
