What is the difference between hemp oil and hemp seed oil?

Hemp seed oil and hemp oil can be used interchangeably. However, hemp oil also refers to full-spectrum oil from the Cannabis stevia plant, which can include cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive component of Cannabis. Alternatively, hemp seed oil is produced from the seed of the Hemp plant which has been specifically bred to contain almost no THC. It is important to take great care to identify the origins of hemp oil. Current legislation prevents New Zealand grown hemp seeds from containing more than 10mg per kg of THC and 75mg of CBD in New Zealand.

Is hemp seed better than CBD?

Hemp seed oil is widely consumed for its essential fatty acids. It includes Omega 6’s Linoleic Acid and Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), and Omega 3’s Alpha Linolenic Acid (Omega 3) and Stearidonic Acid (SDA). These nutrients are vital components which are considered an essential part of a balanced diet. They must be consumed as they cannot be created by the body alone. CBD on the other hand stands for cannabidiol. Often people assume CBD stands for cannabis. This however is not the case. CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in cannabis. Cannabis grown to generate high levels of CBD for CBD oil is used for medicinal purposes and differs from Hemp seed grown with low THC for industrial use and food consumption.
